Lexington
Bryan was an athlete, coach, referee, umpire, sports committee member and a 1976 graduate of Lexington High School. As an athlete he was named to the All-County and All-Area teams for baseball, basketball, and football. He spent one year as Florence Park and Recreation director before beginning his coaching career. He coached at Hazelwood, and Loretto, before returning home to Lexington. He was named District Coach of the Year in 1987. His girls’ teams made it to Sub State 4 consecutive years (1995-1999), Regional Finals 1993 and 1994. He was named Lauderdale Coach of the Year 1999/2000. His boys’ teams made it to Regionals 2013, Sub Regionals 2014-2016, and Area Champions 2016. He coached girls’ softball 1988-1993. The 1990 team won the Lauderdale County Championship and made it to the State Final Four. He has served as an AHSAA umpire for baseball, referee for basketball, for more than 40 years. He has officiated in the State Championship Series, Babe Ruth local, state and national levels. He is also an AHSAA football referee. He serves as multiple committees for Sports Officials.
