Rogers

Played a key role in leading Rogers to great success durinq the 1960's. He lettered four years in basketball and was captain of the 1968 squad that went 23-1 and advanced to its first state tournament. The pirates combined for a 45-14 record during his final two seasons as he averaged 16 points during the two years. He hit 30 straight free throws at one point. He lettered three years in football and was on the honorable mention All-State team in 1968 after teading the team to a 9-1 record. He completed 128 of 227passes for 1,644 yards and 18 TDs and also rused for 13 TDs during his final two seasons. He was also an All-District performer in baseball as a pitcher and outfielder. He played two years at Freed-Hardeman Junior College, averaging 13.5 points. He finished his playing days at Georgia State University, where he ted his team in free throw and tietd goal percentage and averaged l6.6 points per game. He had 14 assists in one game. He also played baseball in junior college and at Georgia State.
