Hester, Ray

Ray played offensive and defensive end, punter and placekicker at Florence State 1962-1966. He began his teaching and coaching career following four years of military service, including one year in Vietnam. He spent 16 years as a defensive coordinator assisting Earl Grissom at LCHS (1970-1977). He coached at Colbert County for 2 years before returning to LCHS. Over the span of his career at LCHS as the defensive coordinator the tigers won over 140 games and advanced to 9 state playoffs, won 4 area championships, and a state championship.
