Brooks
Four-sport letterman at Brooks High School where he was twice selected AII-County and All-State in football, basketball and track. Named 1977 Lauderdale County Athlete of the Year. Played at UNA from 1977 through 1980 and was team captain during his senior season. Was part of UNA's first Gulf South Conference championship team in 1980, catching a dramatic last-minute touchdown pass in a clinching win over rival Jacksonville State. Drafted in 1980 by the Washington Redskins. He posted a 37-22 record as a head football coach at Central, leading the team to the semifinals in 1992 and 1993, before moving to Coffee and is now head coach at Brooks. He was the TimesDaily Coach of the Year in 1992, 1993, and 2007. He led Brooks to the Slate semifinals in 2007 and has become the winningest coach in Brooks history with a 64- I 9 record in six seasons. He coached the North-South All-Star game in 2006, and received the AHSAA Distinguished Service Award at the Alabama-
Mississippi All-Star game in 2007.
