Jackson, Daniel

As a sophomore at Florence High School Daniel led Alabama Class 5A in rushing yards. He carried the ball for 1,530 yards including 14 touchdowns and was named to the 5A Region 8 All Region team, Birmingham and ASWA All-State Honorable Mention. His junior year he was named Alabama Class 5A Region 8 Offensive Player of the year after carrying the ball for 1,450 yards including a kickoff return for a touchdown. Although he had an injury during his senior year Birmingham News listed him as Alabama’s #1 running back and #16 overall prospect. He went on to play at Jacksonville State. He became a starter his junior year and led the team with 509 yards in 130 carries and was 2nd on the team with 21 catches for 244 yards. As a senior he was 3rd in conference with 815 yards on 128 carries including 3 touchdowns and 6.4 yards per carry that was 1st in conference. He ranked 8th in conference with 96.3 all-purpose yards per game. He was on the OVC 2nd Team and ranked 23rd best running back in the country. Jacksonville State finished the season with a record of 8-3 and ranked 18th nationally.
