Kennard, Noona
Bradshaw
Kennard was a pioneer as a player and coach. She ran track and played basketball at Starkville Mississippi High School in 1946 and was an All Little Ten Basketball Player. But it was at Bradshaw High School that she rewrote the record books! Following her basketball background her teams compiled an overall record of 150-82. However, volleyball was her 'forte' and from 1966-1987 she had 16 Area Championships, 7 State Champions, 6 Runners-up, 1 third and 1 fourth place. Add in 3 State Champions from bowling and 2 from track and you have 12 State Champions in 3 sports! Amazingly, she returned to Bradshaw 6 years after retirement to once again coach volleyball and claimed a State Runner-up trophy in her third year. She was inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1993.
