Mason, Emily (Stewart)

Emily’s basketball career stats at Lauderdale County High School include 1,441 points, 867 rebounds, 210 steals, and 79 assists. She was named All County and All Area three consecutive years, and All Region and All State her junior and senior seasons. She was a starter in the North / South All Star game in 2003. As a senior she was a McDonalds All American nominee and a starter in the Mississippi / Alabama All Star game. She accepted a scholarship to play at Gadsden State 2004-2006 and Carson Newman 2006-2008. She was the leading scorer and rebounder at Gadsden State with a single game rebounding record of 21. She had 34 career double doubles and was named to ACCC All Conference, All Region teams and Player of the Year in 2006. At Carson Newman she was named SAC All Conference and participated in USA Athletes International competition in Italy. She continued her basketball career as a coach at University of West Alabama as a graduate assistant 2009-2010 and assistant coach through 2012.
