Brooks
Charlie was named North Alabama Defensive Player of the Year after Brooks finished its first 10-0 season in 1981. He averaged 11.3 tackles per game and had 14 total interceptions. He was also an All Area selection in 1980 and 1981. He was captain of the basketball team in 1982. In baseball he was an All Area selection 1980-1982. He had a .718 on base percentage, .518 career batting average, and 63 stolen bases. Meyers played baseball at UNA 1983-1986 and was a member of UNA’s first Gulf South Conference Championship team in 1984. While an assistant baseball coach at Rogers the team won the State Championship in 1990 and was runner up in 1992. He was an assistant coach for the football team in 1989 when they were runner up and 2010 when they made it to the final four. He was named Times Daily Basketball Coach of the Year in 1992.
