Central
Moomaw played basketball three years at Central, helping the Wildcats to records of 20-8, 24-4 and 29-1. As a senior he averaged 16.5 points per game and was known as a deadly free throw shooter. He signed with Freed-Hardman Junior College where he played from 1965 through 1966. At FHJC he averaged 14.4 points a game as a freshman and 22.6 points per game as a sophomore. He was named MVP of Hardin Invitational Tournament in 1966 and was second in scoring in the Dixie Junior College Conference in 1966. He was chosen All-Region Basketball Square by the National Junior College Athletic Association. Later, he played two seasons at Oklahoma Christian College, averaging 15.6 points as a junior and 10.8 points as a senior. He was the assistant coach for the Central junior high school basketball teams1968-1976, posting 127-45 combined record. Later he served as assistant principal at Lauderdale County and Central high schools before serving as assistant superintendent of Lauderdale County schools.
