Brooks High School

Murphy was a 2000 graduate of Brooks High School, standout in 3 sports. She finished the 1999 volleyball season with 296 kills, 66 aces, 161 digs, 65 blocks and was named to the AHSAA 4A All-Area Team, the Times Daily and Lauderdale County All-Area Teams. She was a three-year starter for the basketball team. She was named to the Lauderdale County All-Tournament Team, All-County Team, and All-Area Team for all three years. She received a Times Daily All-Area award. She is the school record holder for most free throws in a game with 22. Career totals are 1,577 points (20 ppg), 341 assists (4.2 ppg), 286 steals (3.6 ppg), 458 rebounds (5.7 ppg) and 57 three-point shots made. As a four-year starter she helped her softball team win the 2000 4A AHSAA State Championship and was named to the All-County Team, 4A All-Area Team, Section 8 All-Tournament Team, 4A All-State Tournament Team, and Times Daily 4A-5A All-Area Player of the Year 1999. She was selected to the 2000 AHSAA North All-Star Team. As a coach she has led volleyball teams to one 6A State Championship, two 7A State Runner Up finishes, multiple Final Four finishes and ten straight playoff appearances, and eight Area Championships. She was named 6A Alabama Coach of the Year 2013 and 7A Alabama Coach of the Year 2017. She has been selected to coach in the AHSAA North-South All-Star Game 3 years. She was also a basketball assistant head coach for the 4A State Champion team.
