Rogers

He was an All-County receiver 1986-1989, All-Area three years and All-State as a senior when he had 15 touchdowns and 1,200 receiving yards. For career, had 39 touchdowns, 3,700 receiving yards, 17 interceptions and 41.2 yards per punt average. He was the TimesDaily offensive player of the year in 1989 and signed with UNA. In baseball, he helped lead Rogers to its first state championship in 1990 with 15-0 pitching record, 1.13 ERA, 121 strikeouts and two no-hitters. He had 23-4 career record and hit .414. Was TimesDaily Player of the Year in ’89 and ’90. Made All-County, All-Area and All-State (1990). Made All-County basketball team five times and All-Area three times. Averaged 24 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals per game over career. He connected on 93.4 percent of his free throws during his career and won two regional free throw competitions. He scored more than 30 points in nine games. He was named Lauderdale Athlete of the Year in 1990.
