Rogers
Josh was an all sport standout at Rogers High School. He placed 3rd in State High Jump. He was an All-Area Wide Receiver and Defensive Back in football. He was named to the Regional All-Tournament team in 2000, when Rogers only team in school history, advanced to state. In school baseball he was an All-Area Infielder, All-State Shortstop and Pitcher, and a member of the 2000 Coaches Association Super Fifty Team. His high school career batting average was .480, which included 156 hits, 51 doubles, 7 triples, 32 homeruns, and 131 RBI’s. His senior season pitching stats included 1.12 ERA, 115 strikeouts, and a no hitter. He set 13 school records. He was named 2000 Lauderdale County Male Athlete of the Year. He signed a baseball scholarship with Alabama and was drafted in the same year by Boston Red Sox in round 16. His professional career included 3 seasons with the Boston Red Sox and 3 with Cincinnati Reds organization. His stats included 21-28 W-L, 4.96 ERA, 99 games, 324 innings, and 296 strikeouts.
